Your Current Challenge Reward Points Are 0

Hi ,

When people think about blood pressure and salt, most of them picture one thing:

The Salt Shaker.

And yes, too much sodium can be a problem for some people.

But in my experience, that is usually not the biggest issue.

The bigger issue is this:

People are eating sodium hidden inside ultra-processed food all day long.

That is where the real trouble often starts.

I’m talking about foods like:

  • packaged soups

  • frozen meals

  • restaurant takeout

  • deli meats

  • chips

  • crackers

  • boxed meals

  • fast food

  • canned sauces

  • processed cheese

  • breads

  • pizza

  • condiments

  • snack foods

  • “healthy” packaged foods with long ingredient labels

These foods often contain a lot of sodium.

But that is not the only problem.

They also tend to come packaged with the very things that make blood pressure worse:

  • refined carbs

  • sugar

  • damaged fats

  • chemical additives

  • poor-quality oils

  • low fiber

  • very little potassium

  • very little magnesium

  • very little real nutrition

So it is not just “salt.”

It is sodium inside food that is already stressing your metabolism, your blood vessels, your weight, and your inflammation levels.

That is a big difference.

Because if someone eats a real meal made at home, using quality ingredients, and adds a little natural salt to salmon, vegetables, eggs, or grass-fed meat, that is very different than eating a frozen dinner, a sandwich with processed meat, chips on the side, and a bottled dressing or sauce.

One is real food.

The other is a blood pressure ambush.

And here is what many people miss:

When you remove ultra-processed foods, you usually lower sodium naturally.

At the same time, you also reduce sugar, reduce poor-quality oils, reduce chemical junk, and make more room for potassium- and magnesium-rich foods that help your body regulate pressure better.

That is why today’s lesson matters.

Today’s challenge is simple:

Do one full day with no ultra-processed food.

That means if it comes in a box, bag, wrapper, or drive-thru window, be very careful.

Build your meals around real food instead:

  • eggs

  • meat

  • fish

  • chicken

  • vegetables

  • fruit

  • avocado

  • nuts

  • seeds

  • olive oil

Simple examples:

Breakfast:
eggs with avocado and berries

Lunch:
salad with chicken, olive oil, and vegetables

Dinner:
wild salmon or grass-fed meat with vegetables

Snack if needed:
nuts, fruit, or a hard-boiled egg

Do not obsess over perfection.

Just become aware of where the hidden sodium is really coming from.

For many people, the path to better blood pressure is not merely “eat less salt.”

It is:

eat less fake food.

That is how you stop getting hit with sodium where it does the most damage.

And that is how you start giving your body a real chance to normalize blood pressure.

What is one “fake food” or packaged food you now realize may be quietly adding too much sodium to your day — and what real-food swap could you make instead? Post your answer in our Facebook group.
