Hi Friend,
Welcome to Day 3 of our 21-Day Lower Your High Blood Pressure Naturally Challenge.
Today’s message is simple, powerful, and good for just about everyone:
Walk more.
If you want to help lower your blood pressure naturally, walking is one of the best places to start.
Why?
Because your body was made to move.
When you walk regularly, you help your heart become stronger and more efficient. That means your heart does not have to work as hard to pump blood through your body. Over time, that can help support healthier blood pressure.
Walking can also help by:
- Reducing stress
- Supporting healthy weight loss
- Improving circulation
- Helping blood vessels relax
- Supporting better sleep
- Improving blood sugar balance
That is a lot of benefit from one simple habit.
And the best part?
You do not need a gym membership.
You do not need fancy gear.
You do not need to become a marathon runner.
You just need to start walking.
Here are some easy ways to make walking part of your daily routine:
1. Start small
Do not overthink it. Start with 10 minutes. That is a great win.
2. Walk after meals
A short walk after breakfast, lunch, or dinner is a simple way to build the habit.
3. Put it on your calendar
If it is not scheduled, it is easier to skip. Treat your walk like an important appointment.
4. Use a trigger
Walk right after something you already do every day, like your morning coffee, lunch break, or evening meal.
5. Keep your shoes ready
Make it easy on yourself. Put your walking shoes by the door.
6. Invite someone
Walk with your spouse, a friend, a neighbor, or your dog. Many people stick with it better when they are not doing it alone.
7. Break it up
You do not have to do it all at once. Three 10-minute walks still count.
8. Go outside when you can
Fresh air, sunshine, and nature can help calm the nervous system, which is also good for blood pressure.
9. Focus on consistency, not speed
You do not need to walk fast enough to win a race. Just walk at a comfortable pace and keep going.
10. Make it enjoyable
Choose a route you like. Listen to uplifting music, a podcast, or simply enjoy the quiet.
How much should you walk?
A great goal is to work up to 30 minutes a day most days of the week.
But remember, some is better than none.
If 30 minutes feels like too much right now, start with 10. Then build from there.
Today’s action step:
Take a walk today.
That is it.
Even 10 minutes is a great start.
Do it for your heart.
Do it for your blood pressure.
Do it to remind your body that healing happens through daily action.
And to help you stay motivated, we are also sharing a special video from Dr. Lauren Lattanza explaining the many blood pressure and heart health benefits of walking.
